Releases, the preview, putting the site live, rolling back, and taking it offline.
Saves and releases
Every edit is saved as you go. Nobody sees a save until you publish it.
Publishing makes a release, a frozen copy of the site at that moment. A release can be the preview or it can be live. Overview lists every release, newest first, with a badge for which is which.
Publish
Publish on the editor's top bar makes a release and puts it live in one go. The first time, it confirms with Publish and put the site live?, because the address becomes permanent at that moment. If the site still has its temporary address, nertia asks you to pick one first.
Publish to preview only, in the menu beside the button, makes a release without putting it live. Use it to check a change before the public sees it.
The preview
Until the site goes live for the first time, {slug}.nertia.ai shows the preview, so you can look at the whole site at its real address. After that, the address serves the live release, and the preview release has its own link on Overview.
Your own domain always serves the live release.
Releases on Overview
The Releases card on Overview is the control room.

Under the buttons, "Changed since your last publish" counts the saves waiting for a release.
Who can publish
Owners and managers can put a site live, roll back and take it offline. Editors can publish to the preview only. See Members on the Settings tab.
Status
The sidebar shows Live, Coming soon or Draft. "Coming soon" means the site is published but taken offline.
After publishing
The live site uses the SEO settings for its title, description and share card. Once a custom domain is connected, Launch on {domain} points the canonical URL and the share cards at your domain. See Custom domains.
