Pick a store template
Start a new site from one of the three store templates and get a shop section, store pages and sample products in one build.
Needs Free · 5 minutes
Before you start
- A nertia account. Building from a template is free; connecting Stripe later needs Particle.
- Know roughly what you sell. The three templates are shaped for a few handmade things, one product, or a catalogue with collections.
1. Open the store templates
Go to Templates and pick the Store tab. Three templates are there:
| Template | Shaped for | Sample products |
|---|---|---|
| Small batch store | A few handmade products with the story behind them: a split hero, the shop, how it is made, reviews, shipping answers | Four pantry items |
| Single product store | One product up top with its buy bar, a pre-order notice, then the details, the specs and the questions buyers ask | One |
| Merch store | A cover hero, a row of collections and every product in a grid with filters, closed by reviews | Nine, in three collections |
Each card has Full preview and Use template.

2. Use the template
Press Use template. You land on New site with the template pinned as a chip above the prompt: Template: Small batch store. Add a line about your own shop if you like, or attach a Google Sheet with your products, then press Build.
The same door works from a link: /new?template=store-small-batch, store-single-product or store-collections.

3. Find the sample products
The editor opens on the new site. Under Store, pick Products: the template's sample products are already in the list, each tagged sample so you can tell them from your own. Replace them one at a time, or delete them and start clean. The shop section on the home page reads the list live, so the page changes as you go.

4. Swap the words and the look
Everything on the page is placeholder copy for a fictional shop. Switch on Edit text in the editor and change it, or tell the Chat what the shop is. The template's images are blank on purpose: your photos are the only ones that will ever show. Design changes the whole look; the template suggests three or four skins that suit it.
Done
A site with a shop section, the store pages ready to be opened, and a product list to replace. Next: add a store to the site to connect Stripe.
Problems
- I picked a template but want a different layout. Templates are layouts with copy and products on top. Pick another under Templates, or change the layout on the editor's layout bar; the product list stays.
- The products did not appear. A template's products are written once, into an empty list. If the site already had products the template leaves them alone.
